Hello there!
My name is Linda, and I'm a longtime Susanville resident, I bought my first canner in 1979. I have been canning, putting up fruit, vegetables and meat ever since. I am a gardener and have been processing all of my food for many years.
In my class we will discuss water bath and pressure canning, which process is the safest for what you want to preserve. We will also cover jams, pie fillings and jellies.
I can discuss drying, freezing and other ways to preserve your harvest.
I am planning on doing a hands-on demonstration on how to can tomatoes. 🍅
I will have handouts on safety standards and a couple of recipes. For you to enjoy!
